VENUE

The dedicated staff and crew of Sea School are your first choice in marine training and offer 5 star boat licence and certificate courses. Located on the foreshores of the magnificent Sydney Harbour and only a couple of minutes from the Sydney Fish Markets Gather at 100 Pyrmont Bridge Road, Pyrmont (opposite Wentworth Park on the wharf, between Wentworth Park Road and Wattle Street). THE TRAINERS

Our Instructors are commercial mariners with national training qualifications. All have Marine Qualifications and workplace training and assessment certificates. Imagine spending time with a seasoned skipper, imparting vital local knowledge combined with outstanding boat handling and teaching skills.

All courses and private tuition are run by experienced presenters who are ready to help you build on your skills and knowledge. You can be assured of learning all the safe and legal boating practices required, along with the best boating tips imaginable.

THE TRAINING VESSELS

"Skipper 6" Savage Sabre aluminium commercial power boat,

  • Licensed to carry 10 persons plus 2 crew
  • Powered by Evinrude E-Tec 175hp

"Motor Yacht Sydneysider"

Surveyed to carry 53 persons "in shore" and 24 persons "off shore", and ideally suited for recreational sea survival and commercial training such as charter boat operators, deckhands, coxswain and masters.

The ketch rigged motor sailer, has expansive forward and aft decks, 2 saloons, plenty of seating, and toilet.

The vessel is a Boden design, of steel construction, and built to Lloyds British Ships Standards and NSW Maritime survey requirements, and launched in May 1971. Powered by a single screw GM Detroit Diesel, and equipped with Generators for 240 power and timber masts of Douglas fir.
