Workforce Solutions for business and employers

SEA SCHOOL is a trusted and innovative provider. We offer a consultancy service to Australian workplaces in all areas of industry and government. Our expert training consultants will identify specific workplace requirements and customise the necessary industry solutions to comply with new legislation and enhance the skills of your employees. These flexible solutions will help you achieve your business objectives.

Your staff's previous education, training, work and life experiences may be identified and recognised through our skills recognition programme. This programme can assist in reducing the time and cost invested in up-skilling your workforce.

Workplace training

We can deliver training in your workplace, at SEA SCHOOL or a combination of both. Our highly experienced and qualified trainers take a best practice approach to workplace training. This means:

  • supporting individual participant needs
  • progress the workplace training at your own pace
  • doing everything possible to help participants learn effectively on the job
  • clearly outlining expectations
  • developing good relationships within the workplace
  • demonstrating excellent training practices

Whatever your business requires, SEA SCHOOL will customise a program aimed at exceeding your expectations.

Skills Recognition

Skills Recognition means your staff's previous education, training, work and life experiences may count towards the completion of their training programme or course. Skills recognition offers some excellent benefits to you and your employees as it:

  • formally acknowledges your employees competence in their jobs
  • reduces the time it takes your staff to complete all or part of their qualification
  • reduces the cost to your business
  • means staff don't have to be trained in things they already know
  • identifies skills gaps that can then be addressed
  • makes staff development more focused

To apply for recognition towards a national qualification your staff will need to supply evidence supporting their claim of relevant skills and knowledge. This might include:

  • certificates, statements of attainment, qualifications
  • maritime endorsements, record of service books, reports and letters, photographs
  • references from their paid or unpaid work experience

Often, we recommend the participant to complete a number of challenges, either by

  • demonstrating practical competence, and/or
  • successful pass marks on worksheets, multiple choice tests or written assessments

The SKILLS RECOGNITION service is included for any of your employees who are undertaking a training programme or course with SEA SCHOOL.

Applying for Recognition (RPL) without evidence or SEA SCHOOL training

If the participant is finding it difficult to gather evidence to support their claim or they are studying somewhere other than SEA SCHOOL we can process recognition for the following fees:

  • initial recognition interview, by appointment, $90.
  • identify the gap in training
  • to complete the training the participant must attend specific training days in a group
  • the public cost of training (June 2010) is @ $220 or $250 per day per participant in a group
  • the amount of gap training needed to complete the recognition process is determined after the initial interview
  • gap training can be made for individuals or small groups with a price to be negotiated
