Coastal Vessels
If you have a passion for driving boats, why not get paid for it. The marine industry needs competent crew to transport guests and cargo and to provide services, labour and contracts on the waterfront and on the coast. A Coxswain is a commercial skipper and engineer of vessels up to 12 metres. Take control of a ferry, water taxi, jet boat, yacht, catamaran, tourism or catering vessels and a variety of work boats.
Would you rather be fishing?
With Australia's long coastline, Australian fishing vessels operate in the world's third largest market and some of the most pristine marine environments in the world. As a coxswain you will oversee, navigate and manage the operation of a fishing vessel; or operate your own charter fishing boat. You would consult the weather, make a voyage plan and give instructions to the ship's crew.
Marine Engine Driver Grade 3, included
To provide maximum time and cost benefits to the students SEA SCHOOL has developed an integrated Coxswain and MED 3 qualification course; 2 courses, 2 qualifications, saving you $1540. This means that all participants who successfully complete the 7 days of fight fire, safety and engineering training has at the same time completed their Marine Engine Drive Grade 3 course.
Words of advice for Master Class 5
If you continue your training to become a Master Class 5, the Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 qualification (to operate vessel engines and deck machinery of greater than 75Kw) is considered fundamental to your employability.
